Burns is the gateway to Montgomery Bell State Park, one of Middle Tennessee's most treasured outdoor destinations. Its more than 3,700 acres offer over 19 miles of hiking trails, fishing and swimming at Lake Acorn, kayaking and paddleboarding, an 18-hole championship golf course, and an inn, restaurant, and cabins for those who want to stay a while. Closer to the heart of town, Gentry Park and the Mark Whitaker Memorial Fields are favorite spots for family picnics, ball games, quiet walks, and unhurried Tennessee sunsets.

Town Services
The Town of Burns provides many services to keep residents safe, support local infrastructure, and build a strong community.
Residents can use important public safety services like the police and fire departments. The town also takes care of streets and parks. Staff are available to help with building permits and zoning questions, and the town holds events and recreation programs through the Parks & Recreation department.
The town also helps residents manage their property taxes. You can pay your taxes online, and there are programs available to help lower your tax bill if you qualify. The current tax rate is $0.3333.
